DAVID H. RAWLES
David attended California State University at Long Beach majoring in Human Resources and Personnel Management. He received his Master’s Degree in Management from Lake Forest University in Lake Forest, Illinois.
David is currently doing motivational speaking and executive coaching for teams and individuals. His most requested presentation is his Creating a YOUnique LIfe: Aligning Career Success with Personal Values seminar, which he has been sharing since 1988. He also has a passion for helping those involved in job searches and serves as speaking leader for the CAREERSOLUTIONS Workshop for job seekers presented weekly in the mid-cities area of Dallas / Fort Worth.
His first book, Finding a Job God’s Way, was published in 2005 by Hannibal Books of Garland, Texas. The 224-page book is directed at all job seekers. In it David shares his heart, his experience and God’s direction for finding and landing the career of your dreams.
His early business training took place at Disneyland and Walt Disney World where David learned the importance of customer service, providing value, continuous improvement, and integrity, along with skills to supervise, communicate effectively and even entertain a little. This learning and a strong desire to succeed would help lead David to a career he loved.
For 26 Years he was employed by GTE Directories Corporation. He was an executive during the second half of his tenure there. As Vice President Human Resources, David was the senior sponsor for self-managed work teams in the corporation and one of the executive sponsors who helped lead the corporation to win the 1994 Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award.
As a member of the Executive Committee, David helped lead the corporation to achieve over one billion in revenue, launch the world’s most successful internet yellow pages, achieve and grow an international footprint on four continents, and established a precedent for unparalleled gains in productivity during the 1990′s. David was named to Who’s Who in Business Executives in 1992. He retired from GTE in 1998 to pursue his current dream of helping others lead successful and significant careers.
